ABS and traction control are optional. All Elantras are powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC four with variable valve timing that puts out 138 horsepower. As always, Hyundai is tops in the warranty department: 10 years/100,000 miles on the powertrain and five years/60,000 miles on the rest of the car. All this, plus a fair price, makes the Elantra a smart buy.
